webapp vs webapp2 and python version

Hi all,

I am browsing the source code of stashboard and see that it is using the webapp framework rather than webapp2 framework.

from google.appengine.ext import webapp

Can i work on my development environment with python 2.7 or can it make any issue, as i understand this framework was designed for python 2.5.
Is it intended to migrate the application from webapp to webapp2?
