Hi,

I'm relatively new to stashboard, and I have a basic question: how does the status check works?

I mean, from the admin interface I can add services, but I do not find how tell stashboard to check the status somewhere else. How does it check it? Is is possible to use stashboard as a simple status over nagios or any more sophisticated monitoring tool?

Stashboard does not check status if I understand your question.  It is merely the UI which reflects status.  You need to update the stashboard UI with some other externally running process through a rest api documented here:
