Hi Everyone,

We're a bit closer to the date of the blueshirt new year's activity day which will be held in Southampton, the main news is it will need to be delayed a for the purely selfish reason that I can't make it on the weekend of January 30th any more, and the purely un-selfish reason of that being the date of the Bristol Tech-day.

So here's a doodle poll to find a new date that suits everyone:

Please fill it in at your convenience so we can decide when to host it. The arbitrary deadline for the doodle poll will be in a week, (22nd January 2016)

As all blueshirts are welcome, if anyone has already gotten train tickets for the provisional date, or is busy on every other week, email me ASAP!

A bit more detail on the event:

It will be similar to last year, we'll have a quiz then move on to hosting a micro-competition involving building and running robots. The aim of activity days is to enhance blueshirt knowledge of the game/kit, and to hopefully get blueshirts to socialise across different branches.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Last year we had a really successful SR activity day, so we're planning on making it an annual event! therefore, we'll be holding another one in Southampton at the end of January (2016.)

Last year we had a quiz, a tiny robotics competition with the 'Tudor' development bots, and then went to the pub afterwards. The aim of blueshirt activity days is to strengthen links between the branches of SR, and to improve blueshirts' knowledge of the kit. This year the plan is very similar, and we're hoping it goes even better than last year! We've set up a doodle poll for the date at [0], though unless lots of people can't make it, the date will likely be on the 30th of January. All volunteers from anywhere are welcome!

Thanks,
Andy Barrett-Sprot

Hi Everyone,

Doodle Poll is over, the date for the Blueshirt/Volunteer activity day will be Saturday the 13th of February 2016 from 11:00am (to lateish, probably going to the pub after)

We'll be having a Quiz, then a tiny team based robotics competition with the tudors over a few hours.

Location:
The seminar room on the top floor of the Mountbatten Building (Building 53, [attached to Building 59]) in the University of Southampton.

Transport directions:
There is a car park right next to the building which is free on weekends. Alternatively if you're taking the train, you can get off at Southampton Airport Parkway, and take the U1C to the bus interchange at the centre of the university.

Thanks,
Andy Barrett-Sprot

Hi all,

Michael and I (from Bristol) said we could go on the doodle poll, but due to a change of circumstances, we can't make it any more.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we hope the event goes well!
