how get more useful help e.g. on matplotlib.plot() with ctrl+i ?

Hi

the interactive help with CTRL+I applied to matplotlib.plot (and many others) just yields

Definition : plot(*args, **kwargs)
Type : Present in matplotlib.pyplot module

Which is not very helpful.

Is there a way to make it display all the optional args plot has to offer, or do I have to learn to live with it?
