upgrading spyder

im nt able to upgrade spyder v2 through 

pip install --upgrade spyder

on my windows 64bit 2.7 system

is there any other way?

I assume you originally installed Spyder using pip; if not, you need to upgrade Spyder using the same method that you used to originally install it.

You can also install Spyder using any of the distributions listed at: https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder

1. Anaconda
2. WinPython
3. Python(x,y)

But you probably need to remove your current installation of Spyder.
