My spyder IDE 2.3.9 variable explorer is not showing/supporting data frame variables. Anyone has any idea which package I might miss? Urgent! Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Hi,

You need Pandas 0.13.1 or higher to get support for DataFrames.

Cheers,
Carlos

Hi, Carlos,

My Pandas package is 0.14.1. But I can't see the data frame variables in the variable explorer. Any idea that other package I might missed? Thanks.

Hi,

Does your DataFrame contain categorical data (of type "category")? I have noticed a bug that prevents the display of DataFrames in Spyder in this case. It would still be listed in the Data Explorer but you can't see the content. The bug is present in both version 2.3.9 and 3.0dev.

Hi,

Could you open an issue about it with a reproducible example?

Thanks,
Carlos

Be aware that spyder can filter the shown variables depending on their names (like full capital names). If I remember well the option is in a context menu.

Done.
Thanks.
