Change Input from Editor Window to iPython Console

Spyder v-3.2.0 (upgraded from v-3.1.4 on Debian v-9.0.0 platform.
When I make a change to a python script in the Editor and then click on the green triangle to execute the script the Input prompt appears in the iPython Console keyboard input is still directed t the Editor Window.
Is there a Tools/Preferences option that will transfer the keyboard input to the iPython Console when the script is executed?
