Chrome opening App Store?

I often use Sporcle in Chrome on my iPad. Lately, it has been automatically opening the App Store and taking me to the download page for various apps (often Lyft or Draft Kings) without my touching anything on the page. For a while it was doing it once in a while, but today it's happening about every other time I load a page. It does not happen on any other website and so I assume is related to the ads on the site.

Is anyone else seeing this?

It happened to me a day or two ago, but only once. Also on an iPad, but I'm using Safari. I can't remember where it took me in the App store, but I think it was to some game with cartoon monkeys.

Sorry, I said Chrome, but I meant Safari. I don't use Chrome on the iPad.

OK, today it's happened a lot, taking me to the App Store page for Draft Kings every time. Apparently this has to do with shady ad networks, and I hope that Sporcle finds the one responsible and gets rid of it, because the alternative is an ad blocker. Candy Crush and Draft Kings have been big offenders for me too.
