Error while building Geos 3.4.2

Hi Sandro,

I am trying to install Geos 3.4.2 on another CentOS 6.5 mahine. I followed below steps. I am using Python 2.7.6 and i dont want to upgrade the same as there are lots of dependencies.

• wget http://download.osgeo.org/geos/geos-3.4.2.tar.bz2
• tar -xvf geos-3.4.2.tar.bz2
• cd geos-3.4.2
• export "CXXFLAGS=-DHAVE_STD_ISNAN=1 -DHAVE_LONG_LONG_INT_64=1 -DGEOS_ENABLE_INLINE=ON -DGEOS_ENABLE_TESTS=ON"
• ./configure --enable-python
• make

I am getting below error

/usr/local/lib/python2.7/config/libpython2.7.a: could not read symbols: Bad value

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

make[5]: *** [_geos.la] Error 1

make[5]: Leaving directory `/root/spatialite/geos-3.4.2/swig/python'

make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

make[4]: Leaving directory `/root/spatialite/geos-3.4.2/swig/python'

make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/spatialite/geos-3.4.2'

make: *** [all] Error 2

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dinesh,

if I remember well this is the first time in my life I see such
an error. here you could possibly find some usefull hint:
