Has anyone tried this new Soc? It is basically an Nrf24l01 with an 8051 mcu. It claims full radio compatibility with the 01.

never hear about, is a nice device but is not suitable for Souliss. It has only 1 KByte of RAM that isn't generally enough.
The 8501 is a very old fashion CPU even if is really appreciated, actually there are is porting for the Arduino cores.
If you are looking for a CPU+radio there are some available solutions like the Ciseco ones or the Atmel RF microcontroller.
