Hi,

just got from our friends at Authometion that their store is online and the shipment of their RGB Bulb will start soon.

http://authometion.com/shop/en/

I'm happy using one of their bulb from several months integrated in my Souliss network.

This release is newer in both lamp and shield, the lamp is based on an ATtiny with an RF radio at 2.4 GHz (there is no access to program the board) and the shield now use the ESP8266.

To use this board is required to program the ESP8266 with Souliss and can be used even as standalone (need some tricks to supply power).

People that are interested can pre-order the boards at the Authometion shop.

Regards,
Dario.

Errata Corrige, it cannot be used as standalone because the RF radio is not connected to the ESP8266 module, so you need an Arduino connected to this shield.

I believe this product could be an opportunity, but, this is my point of view, I can do almost the same with a RGB lamp and an IR Led.
Total cost should be less than 6$. Am I wrong ?

It depends on your goal, this is a bulb that you plug in your existing lamps. Of course you can solder your board and get the same result, but not in the same shape and space, think about the external power supply.

Regards,
Dario.
