Hi Charist & Soil guys,

Austrian Study,...

On Chernozem, Cambisol and  Planosol soils,

Highlights;
Biochar permanently decreased bulk density in three agricultural soils.
Biochar improved soil aggregate stability in Planosol and Cambisol soils.
Biochars effect on soil aggregate stability correlated strongly with electrical conductivity.
Straw biochar improved plant available water in a Planosol soil by 38%.

Mangrove Char,...

Highlights;
Extracellular Enzyme activity in mangrove sediment significantly affected by biochar addition.
Microbial abundance decreased after biochar addition in mangrove sediment.
Sediment organic carbon increased with biochar addition in mangrove sediment.
Biochar application may mitigate climate change through affecting enzymatic & microbial activity.

ICT International,...

ICT International;
A unique family of digital sensors and data loggers have been developed to measure key plant and soil parameters for the advancement of plant and soils research, to address physiological limitations, to water availability, climate change, evaluation of plant genetics, breeding programs or fundamental understanding of plant function. They have been installed to measure plant water use (sap flow), plant water potential (psychrometer), soil moisture and soil water potential to determine the effects of climate and environmental change across the world including; the Brazilian rainforests, the “world’s tallest trees” in California, mine site rehabilitation in Australia and Peru, greenhouse tomato production in Australia and the effects of elevated CO2 on plant water use and hydraulic conductivity.
