set preference to black and white

I know this is probably a lame question but I am a serious noob to sofa - I really need all my charts in black and white, can I set this as default?

Hi Al,

I should have answered this much earlier but I was mulling on whether I could come up with a better answer than "No". If you are able to modify a css file you can make any theme you like. In the sofastats folder is a subfolder called "css". Each theme has its own file e.g. default.css. If you make a copy and call it "black and white.css" you can then open it in a text editor and change colour values. It might take a bit of thought though because you'd need to enable differentiation between multiple shades of grey e.g. to supply enough distinct colours for a pie chart. But it's certainly doable and if anyone wants to have a go I would consider adding the result permanently into SOFA (assuming it works well enough etc)..

That would be amazing if monochromatic could be a permanent option.  I'm working on a Phd right now and every table/chart etc. I submit has to be in black and white.

Hi Al,

Only had a little bit of time before work to put this theme together but please find attached a new monochrome theme. Please take it for a spin and let me know how it goes. It will need to go in your /Users/username/sofastats/css folder alongside default.css etc. It should then show up in the theme lists when you restart SOFA.

Hi there, gave it a whirl.  In the programme the top left section looks like spirals but when exported is orange filled.  When exported to be pasted into word I was able to recolour to black and white or greyscale.

Looks good. Its great what you do, however there is now a purple line under that section. I pasted it into word to see if it was visible and printed it and it is.

There is some purple but it will be trivial to correct that in the css. I'll have a closer look later and send a new version.

Fixed - I found the purplish-grey colour in the css (in four places) and replaced it.
