SockJS disconnecting frequently when used in PhoneGap Android

Hi, I'm encountering an issue in which SockJS disconnects very frequently when used in PhoneGap Android.  Connecting again takes about another 5-6 seconds so it results in a delay and reduced throughput.  I'm using SockJS with Web STOMP to receive messages from RabbitMQ.

Is there a timeout setting which I can use to prevent a dropped connection while the connectivity fluctuates - a common issue on smartphones? 

Previously, I test Strophe on the same Android phone and remembered that the connection was much more stable.  Thanks.

Hi did you receive an answer of your question ? I have currently the sme problem, after some time my socket client,
 using it  with phonegap, hungs up or closes,
