ABOUT GROWING UP GREEN
Our exciting and growing progressive charter school is leading the way for teaching “green” education. With a staff of over 120 loving, dedicated teachers and operations specialists, and an enrollment of 900+ eager-learning children, we have created a remarkable and fun culture in which both staff and student retention is extraordinarily high. As we continue to grow, we’ve expanded to yet another additional campus - currently totally 4 campuses for our stellar students, including Pre-K, K-6, and Middle School.
By empowering children to be conscious, contributing members of our community through a rigorous curriculum and an engaging green culture, our school is preparing its graduates to attend high-performing schools where their interdisciplinary academic foundation, knowledge of sustainability, and strong sense of self sets them apart as leaders of the future.
From academic blocks for math and literacy to creating “Explore and Discover” projects driven by NYS Social Studies standards to science labs co-taught by the classroom and science teacher, students are taught a combination of direct skills instruction and exploration based projects to help them achieve their highest scholastic potential. Additionally, our Growing Up Green Charter School uses the Responsive Classroom approach to build social skills.
