THE UNOFFICIAL AND INCOMPLETE HISTORY OF PETER GLAWSON

Compiled by Boyhowdy

(Revision 1.1)

One cannot begin to talk about Peter Glawson without first mentioning
LYRIC. Lyric was both a photograhy studio and publisher of magazines
featuring nudist boys, in the late 60s and early 70s. Many of the photos
you will see of Peter come from these magazines and often the file titles
relate to the names of the magazines:

nb = naked boyhood magazine
sc and sun = Sun Children magazine
lyric and usboys = Lyric's American Boys magazine
nt and nteen = Naked Teens magazines

There are many other Lyric titles, but those were the ones that featured
the most of Peter G.

The young man behind Lyric was Bill Byers, who was known as "The Dom." He
was the heir to a large oil fortune and son of a well known movie actress,
which is where he got the connections to make the Genesis Children movie.
The Dom had a large home in the hills of the San Fernando Valley of Los
Angeles, but also frequented San Francisco where he either owned or was
associated with a photography studio where a number of the lesser-known
Lyric models were photographed. While the Dom could handle a camera, the
photographer who is credited for most of the professional quality photos
and movies of the Lyric Boys was Slim Pfeiffer.

Lyric came to a sudden end in the face of a major scandal around the mid
1970s and you can draw your own conclusions as to what it was all about. At
that time, the Dom sort of dropped out of sight, and Slim Pfeiffer ended up
leaving the United States and going to Europe.

At it's peak however, Lyric was putting out several magazines a year, as
well as photos and movies and even a Calendar featuring the boys at one
time.

For the first couple of years in the late 60s, the "star" of the Lyric
publications was a boy who went by the name of Billy Marshall. However,
when Peter Glawson arrived on the scene with his good looks, blond hair and
other very attractive features he quickly took the spotlight and even 30
years later remains very popular with those who appreciate the beauty of
the young adolescent male form.

Peter was born in the mid-1950s (probably 1955 or 56) and spent his early
years in Texas with his older brother, Rick and younger half-brother,
Maxey. There is not much information about the family, but it was
apparently unstable and kind of fell apart when Peter was around 12, which
is when he and Maxey moved from Texas to California to live with their
Uncle Terry. Terry we believe to have been a gay man (and probably boy
lover) who was very much into the nudist scene as was all of his family,
including the boys from Texas. The earliest published photos of Peter that
we know of are the ones of he and Maxey and Billy Marshall and the other
boys on the Gulf Coast of Texas (playing along the beach). Peter is 12 in
these photos.

In addition to the many magazine scans that have made their way into the
Usenet, newsgroups, there are also vid caps around from several of the 8mm
"home movies" that were made, such as Peter and the Desert Riders. These
films are still floating around and legitimately for sale on video from a
California outfit (all nudism - no porn).

Actaully, that brings up a good point. To our knowledge, Lyric never
published any photos that could be classified as porn (no hard-on shots,
etc). However, we beleive more than one photographer was at work and in
fact Uncle Terry may have been the one who sold photos to some of the
European boy porn mags distributed in the Netherlands and Germany during
the 70s and 80s. Those mags are the source of the more "scandalous" photos
of Peter and the others.

When Peter was about 16, in 1972, he and the other boys, including Billy
Marshall (who was a year or two older than Peter and also went by the name
"Jack Good") were all in a low budget movie called the Genesis Children
that they filmed in Greece. (The film lacks a good plot or storyline, but
at least it was an attempt at legitimate cinematography).

The oldest we have seen Peter in photos are those from the home movies
around Uncle Terry's backyard swimming pool in where he is about 17 or 18.
(BTW, "Peter's Snake" refers to his reptile pet seen in some of the movies,
not a part of his anatomy! <G>)

Doing the math, Peter would be about 43 or 44 today. We do know for a fact
that he is still alive, and in fact was the benefactor of Slim Pfeiffer's
estate, including (sources say) having aquired most all of Slim's colletion
of negatives and photos from the Lyric days. It is also reported that he
bought up, or otherwise aquired, the rights to all the nudist stuff,
including the films, most of it which was owned by Falcon Studios, and the
remainder by a couple of photographers. It is our understanding that Peter
is still in contact with the Dom and they remain friends.

Peter Glawson has made some appearances as an adult, including on some
cable TV talk show a few years ago. He apparently is unwilling to say much
about his childhood stardom or give out information about any of the other
boys, possibly to protect their privacy. He did acknowledge his acquisition
of the original photos and indicated that The Genesis Children as well as
videos of the home movies were to be re-released, which has in fact
happened.

And, for those wondering, we are told Peter is not gay, he is str8 (but
having grown up as a nudist, very comfortable with his sexuality, and we
belive "straight, but not narrow.")
