Dear Fellow Galitzianers:

If you have not recently searched the JRI-Poland online database, now is a
good time.

On behalf of Jewish Records Indexing - Poland, I am proud to announce a
major addition of data to the JRI-Poland online database for Galician towns
now in Ukraine.

Earlier this month, just before the IAJGS International Conference on Jewish
Genealogy in Jerusalem, more than 40,000 index entries were added to the
online database and now freely available for searching. These records were
sourced from both the AGAD and Przemysl Archives.

These additions covered records up through 1914 for the following towns:

Bobrka
Bolszowce
Boryslaw
Czortkow
Drohobycz
Gologory
Horodenka
Jagielnica
Komarno
Kopyczynce
Kozowa
Mielnica
Nawarya
Olesko
Podwoloczyska
Sambor
Sasow
Skole
Sokal
Sokolowka
Stary Sambor
Stojanow (a new AGAD town)
Stryj
Tarnopol
Winniki
Zabie
Zawalow
Zbaraz
Zloczow
Zolkiew
Zydaczow

In addition, earlier this year the Polish Parliament reduced the privacy
protected period for marriage and death records to 80 years from 100 years.
Some marriage and death record indices for the period 1915 through 1934 were
included in this upload for the following towns.

Boryslaw
Bukaczowce
Czortkow
Drohobycz
Gologory
Horodenka
Jagielnica
Kozlow
Mikulince
Mosty Wielkie
Rohatyn
Sokolowka
Zalozce
Zydaczow

This was a major upload of new data for Galitzianers to explore and was made
possible by the contribution of interested researchers. A big thank you goes
to JRI-Poland's Database Manager Michael Tobias who is responsible for the
improvements in the Database and the uploading of the data. Also, a big
thank you to Howard Fink and his team of volunteers, who are creating the
exact links to the record images on the AGAD Archive website.
