The first concentration camp for French Jews in eastern France was a train
station in Pithiviers France. It housed 3,500 Jews in May 1941, prior to
deportation of Jews to Auschwitz.

Local authorities announced they are devoting funds to preserve the place
and establish exhibitions and declare it a historical monument.
