Thank you for letting me join group. Both my parents and their parents have
always considered themselves as Polish Americans but my Dad's family census
records between 1920-40 and his mom's emigration papers list the family origin
as being Polish, Prussian, Russian.

Per my grandfather Wojiech/Albert Konkowski was born in Wrotinice, Gragno,
Russia on 04/25/1897 and my grandmother, Helen Magdalena Maczyjdlowski in
Lopienice, Lezach, Poland on 09/11/1893. They married on 09/15/1915 in
Wilmington, DE.

Even though I am generally trying to research my family in Poland/Russian I
am really interested in learning if my paternal side of family was possibly
Jewish since a rare blood disorder/cancer - Polycythemia Vera which my
father and I both were diagnosed with in 1969 is known to effect a
significantly high number of people of Jewish decent in my medical research.

Where should I begin in my research? Are their hometown/territory names and
last names from my grandmother's US Petition for Nationalization correct per
European/Russian translation?

Any type of input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Teresa Konkowski
