Hello,

I was always told that my ggrandmother Dora HERSHEKOV was born in
Russia or Kiev. Her death record says Glolisna, Russia. I cannot
find a town with this name, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Julie MALTZ BORMAN

The JewishGen Communities Database
suggests for "Giolisna" [mind the "i"]:

Galicia, Yid: Galitsye, [the region]

Evertjan Hannivoort.
The Netherlands.

Julie,

This place is most probably Kholosno, Ukraine at 5052 2837.
Place is located within short distance from two larger Jewish
communities of Korosten and Ushomir, both were administratively
situated within Volhynia gubernia.

Best
