Help with Goldschmidt in Hamburg

Dear all

I need a help with the Goldschmidts from Hamburg. Some years ago I had
written about the Goldschmidts but now I found out that I was on a wrong
way.

My greatgrandfather John Abraham Goldschmidt (Hamburg in
March 29 1846-February 09 1913), son of Abraham Jonas Goldschmidt
(Hamburg 1818-09/15/1877) and Johanna Kann (Frankfurt 03/02/1824-Hamburg 06/16/1896).
About Johanna Kann I had a very successful story but unfortunately not from
the forum

Now I found out that Abraham Jonas Goldschmidt's parents were:
Jonas Abraham Goldschmidt and Friederike born Levysohn.

Is there someone from Hamburg researching Goldschmidt? And where can I
ask for documents in Hamburg? The Staatsarchiv Hamburg do not have archives
online, just an index beginning in 1876. It seems that all were from Hamburg
(Altona)

I thank in advance for any help in Hamburg
