"...I am looking for the death record of Anna MEISTER, wife of Abraham MEISTER and
daughter of Isaac Abramowitz and his wife Pessa.I found her (on familysearch)
as having died December 26, 1932 in Kings County,NY but I cannot find any
confirmation or even a trace on ItalianGen.org, Ancestry or any of the grave
databases. How should I interpret this? If necessary, I can shlep into NYC and
look at microfilm #2070587 but I'm wondering if anyone has any other
suggestion/path to try tracking down her grave..."
Marty...indeed there is a death certificate you can send for...and you
can find it two ways:
First, when I queried Italiangen.org I used the wildcard, as I knew that
oftentimes vowels are transcribed incorrectly. So looking for m*ster, anna
produced: Anna Mefster, death certificate 24925, Kings County, 12/26/32.
Second, if you look on the right column of the FamilySearch lookup,
you'll see "reference ID, cn 24925". The cn is the certificate number,
and you can send for it with that information.
The death certificates usually contain the cemetery information.
Happy Hunting!
Shana Tovah and may this year bring peace and joy to all
