The Back Story - On Sept. 8, 2018 I woke up to a message regarding a person
known to the small Polish village of Leki Dukielskie in Poland as Mr. Srul.
Mr. Srul resided in the town of Dukla which is 5 miles away but, he would
regularly go to Leki Dukielskie to purchase calves.

During WWII it is believed that Mr. Srul's wife & children did not survive.
At some point Mr. Srul was hidden in Leki Dukielskie He "may" have gone
to Israel at the end of the war. A link at www.lekidukielskiedukla.pl has a
photo of him along with a short message in Polish.

The person who emailed me is from Leki Dukielskie and although now living in
The Hague, Netherlands still has relatives living in the village. She is the
author of the above link and grew up in Leki Dukielskie hearing family
stories

In the 1990s I found myself along with a researcher looking through vital
record books in Dukla. This is when I realized that there were many
MEISNERs living there. Since my dad was born in Nowy Zmigrod about 10 miles
away and his mom's MEISNER family all lived there, I wondered if the Dukla
MEISNERs were related to me.

So, when I returned home I began a second family tree titled The MEISNERs of
Dukla and ended up with several branches of MEISNERs in Dukla. I am still
not positive that I would be related to them, however.

In checking the Dukla Tree, I found an Israel MEISNER whose father was Berl
MEISNER. Berl was one of the 4 Cattle traders living in Dukla in 1913.
Occupation: Cattle & Calves Trader Source: 1913 Galician Business Directory
- Berl lived in Dukla from 1870 to 1933. He had 4 children with Israel the
youngest being born in 1902.

My own father was born Israel RAFF and referred to as Srul by his family.

There is an Israel MEISNER who lived in Israel after WWII and married
Tziporah KUSHITSKY. Israel passed away in 1972 and Tziporah passed away in
1976 both are buried in Holon Cemetery.

If you knew the above couple or have some suggestions for further research,
etc. please email me at ser...@dc.rr.com

Any additional information would be appreciated.
