I have a difficult search that maybe someone wants to add another
set of eyes and brain power to help crack. The biggest part of the
problem is the family name is very inconsistent and even where they
are found the handwriting was so bad as to get various entries in
the indexes.

What I do know:

Sarah UNTERBERGER born in Austria about 1876 married Nochnen YENAN
or YEMOW or YENUAR Oct 19 1896 in Manhattan.

They have a daughter Minnie born July 22, 1897 in Manhattan and she
is indexed as JENOWAR but it might be Jenwan and they are living at
96 Ludlow Street. The husband is now listed as Nathan.

I tried 96 Ludlow in 1900 and they are not there.

Sometime, maybe one or two years after Minnie they had a son who
might be named Max. I do not see hiss birth record.

The only other citing in records is in 1910 in the census they are
living at 332 East 42nd Street in Manhattan. They are running the
boarding house at that address. The family name is listed as JANUAR.

I tried that address in the 1905 and 1915 census and I do not see
them.

I can not find them anyplace else in the records.

According to the family story husband Nathan ran off at some point
after 1910. Wife Sarah died where I do not know before 1933.
Daughter Minnie was married by 1933 and likely years earlier as she
briefly reappeared to the family but no one has her married name
and she is not living in New York .... her husband might be a
traveling salesman.

Brother Max is unknown other than he shows in the 1910 census.

Of course I would love to fill out the whole story or at least
figure out where they go after 1910 and possibly get a line or
Minnie or Max.

Unless they gt skipped in theory they should show in the 1900 or
1905 or 1915 or possibly later census without the husband. Since
he ran off he could be impossible to trail.

Any thoughts on how to trail this family?

Thanks

Allan Jordan
