For many years the USHMM has developed and continually updated its Holocaust
Survivors and Victims (HSV) database. This collection has grown to 7 million
names, of which about 4 million are available on the Museum's public website.
(The remainder can be accessed at the Museum itself but may not be put on the
web due to restrictions imposed by organizations which furnished the
information.)

In cooperation with Ancestry in the World Memory Project, additional
collections are continually being added. In addition, in the case of many
collections, a link has been provided whereby copies of individual documents
may be requested. To give one recently added example, a collection of 1,732
names, with files totaling 80,000 pages, from Warsaw's Urzad Siedczy
investigation office, 1922-1951, provides extensive personal and family
information on Jews accused of various crimes. The collection may be searched
at https://www.ushmm.org/online/hsv/source_view.php?SourceId=45325 , and, if
a name of interest is found, a link appears whereby copies of individual pages
may be requested.
