Gesher Galicia is pleased to announce the addition of two more sets of
vital records from the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine,
Lviv (TsDIAL), on the All Galicia Database. This database is freely
searchable and available to all. See: http://search.geshergalicia.org

a) Grzymalow
- Jewish Marriages 1919-1939, 1942. Fond 701, Series 1, Vol. 33-34.
(264 records)
Grzymalow was the ancestral town of Pamela Weisberger, and this
indexing project has been carried out in her memory. Exceptionally for
these records, we have also extracted the names of the witnesses at
the marriages and of the rabbi officiating. These are the only known
and accessible Jewish vital records from Grzymalow in any archive.
There is, however, a set of death records from the town for the period
1919-1936, which is held at the Civil Registration Office (USC) in
Warsaw and which in theory ought to be publicly available in 2017.

b) Narajow. Fond 701, Series 1, Volumes 232-249. (807 records in total)
These records constitute about a half of all the records for Narajow
in the Lviv archives. We are continuing to work on the remaining
records.

Update on progress on indexing Fond 701
We reported earlier on the status of our indexing project of Jewish
vital records from the Ukrainian State archives, in particular from
Fond 701 in the Lviv archives. Out of 63 towns with records in this
fond, Gesher Galicia has now indexed all the records from 27 towns:
Bialy Kamien, Borszczow, Brody, Brzezany, Bukaczowce, Czortkow,
Drohobycz, Grzymalow, Horodenka, Husiatyn, Jagielnica, Jezierzany,
Kolomyja, Kozielniki, Kudrynce, Mosty Wielkie, Nadworna, Okopy,
Podwoloczyska, Probuzna, Sambor, Stary Sambor (Stare Miasto), Tyczyn,
Winniki, Zbaraz, Zimna Woda, and Zloczow.

In addition, over 90% of the large collection of vital records from
Lwow have been completed. Gesher Galicia has also done the greater
part of the records for: Lwow-Zniesienie, Mielnica, Mosciska, Narajow,
Turka, and Zolkiew.

By the fall of this year, we will have also indexed and uploaded all
the remaining records for Narajow, Stryj, Turka, and Zolkiew, for
which indexing we have received generous donations from supporters.

We are also working at present on Jezierna and Zborow. Also in our
indexing project for the current period of vital records in the Lviv
archives are records from: Bolechow, Budzanow, Grodek Jagiellonski,
Rozdol, Rudki, Stanislawow, and Swirz.
