My gguncle R' Chaim Dov KANTOR refers to a relative of his mother who
served in Karlin as "Rava"d" usually considered the senior Jewish
authority of the community. I believe he wrote that this Mordechai
came from Ruzhin.

Checking the sources as to which Mordechais served in Karlin during
this period my guess is that he was referring to R' Mordechai ZACKHEIM.
Another cousin who is more into geneaology than I doesn't agree.

I've posted in the that I checked "The Scattered Seeds" and other
sources but haven't found a connection to our family.

Does anyone have other suggestions who the above could be or what was
the connection between the above Chaim Dov KANTOR and Mordecha ZACKHEIM.
