It is tempting to say that if a name is uncommon, it must be the person I
am looking for. But keep in mind that our family members were generally
named for older family who died. So even an uncommon name may be shared by
several cousins in the same town and the same age cohort. Even if the
father's name matches, the father's may be cousins as well.
