Can anyone suggest what the original family name is for "STONE" might be? They
left for South Africa in the early 1900s. I have not had success in searching
with the Anglicized name.

Many thanks

Dear Leslie,

I don't know if this applies in your instance, but I have seen the
surname Stoller become Stone.

Stoller could in turn be spelled as Stolyar, Shtoler, Shtalier, Stol,
etc.

I hope this helps.
