Dear Researchers,

As we approach Rosh Hashanah 5777, on behalf of the Lodz Registration
Cards Extraction Team, we want to wish you all a very happy and sweet
New Year.

We began extracting the names of Jewish family members in February of
this year. To date, we have reviewed more than 21,000 scans and extracted
the names, birth dates and birth cities of nearly 20,000 Jewish souls who
were recorded in Lodz during the period of 1916-1921. It is with
gratitude that we thank our volunteers who sit at their computers for
many hours a day reading, researching, identifying and recording Jewish
names, towns, marital status and professions. These are the people who
work diligently - driven by what our volunteers call "holy work", "G-D's
work", or simply "we need to memorialize" our brothers and sisters who
perished during the Shoah. Each name we extract further diminishes the
Nazi's attempt at totally annihilating the Jewish people.

The resulting data will provide researchers and their families with
insight into the lives and movement of our people during this time frame
and will serve as valuable research and history of the Polish Jews in
Lodz.

Our volunteer team consists of Alesya in Russia, Fritz in Germany,
Yohannan and Fay in Australia, Billy and Duncan in Kenya, Miriam, Arye,
Zeev and Yehudit in Israel, David in Canada, and David, Yael, Walter,
Rochelle, Deborah, Dina and Karen in the United States. Yasher Koach
to these angels in the background, please send them a shout out, via
me, with your thanks for their incredible work.

We expect to upload the first group of 20,000 names by end of this year.

If you wish to have your family's name extracted quickly, for a qualifying
contribution of $54 per family name, a customized worksheet will be made
available to you.

We anticipate receiving additional scans from the Polish State Archives
in the near future. The review of the estimated 175,000 names we have
today will likely take several years. We need more volunteers to help us
expedite the project. Please contact me to become part of this dynamic
team.

We wish you all a Shana Tova v'metuka, may you all be graced with
happiness, good health, peace and the connection to lost families.
