British WWII birth certificate

A Hungarian cousin is very ill and wishes to be buried in a Jewish cemetery. We are
having trouble verifying that his mother was Jewish. He was born in 1941 in
Leamington Spa, England. Would his birth certificate have given his mother's
religion?
