I believed that California is on the verge of bankruptcy due to
revenue declines, increasing benefit, cost of living for unionized
public employees and its providing an amazing generous welfare system
to the illigal immigrants.

The cost of California's illegal immigrants in medical treatment,
public housing, police, jail, education, legal and welfare services
added up to the financial burden for the state of California and the
federal government.

Revenue declines(comporation moved out due to its regulation),
unionized, friendly welfare state for its citizens and the illegal
immigrants helped bankrupt California.

Thousands of the so called disabled people who received SSI in
California but are working full time on their sons or relatives'
farms, the sweatshops and farmer markets without paying tax to the
state and federal goverment.

What do you think? Got something to say?

I totally agree with you.

I saw in Minnesota, downtown St. Paul, State Employees go on strike,
Unionized Public Employees and I thought, they should be happy enough
they have jobs.

Your evaluation Peacock, sure raises my opinion on anything you write
because though I agree with you, I probably could not have organized
my thoughts to say what you did.

plum and peacock,

illegal-immigrants is only a terminology coined by man to win
votes...all of us are illegal man...please don't be so quick to point
fingers my friends...they may be illegal to many, but in their own
world they are family and friends...so what is wrong with that?

remember the say "...pointing one finger toward others, but there are
three pointing right back at you..."

Tzianeng,

There is nothing wrong with that but just high crimes with drug from
Central America to poison our kids, drained government resources and
taxpayers like us who have to shoulder the burdens.

Thirty-three years ago, I see American with less crime and drug
problem but now a lot of them have experienced with drug from Central
America and I just nervous about it...

You see now the drug cartels are fighting each other in Central
America to control territories and now it is near our neighborhood.

Plum,

Thanks for understanding my point of view. Not many of us
conservative, republican like to use that rough words to apply to the
California's woeful plight.
I should have said they are the roots caused of the state of
California on the verge of bankruptcy.

We individuals can go into debt or try to meet our obligations.

Much uproar is being felt because the car companies, security
companies, people defaulting on mortgages, are being bailed out,
states can go into debt for many years into the future as well.

That's why many people are saying, "Who bails us out? The Little Man?"

guys-- here is what i believe bankrupt america.

1. doctors - doctors wanted more more unsicked/uninjuried people to
see them, so they can collect more money from insurance and govn't
medicare.
2. lawyers - they want more and more unsicked/ininjured people to see
them to make more cases, so they can collect more money from insurance
and gov't medicare.
3. white people are over paid. 3 immigrants only earns as much as 1
white american. white people get easy job and work less hrs, but get
more pay. every year they have to increase buget because all these
white employees get raise.

Peacock,

sounds like you nailed all the conservative talking points, let me
guess you're a fan of rush and fox news? anyway but be careful when
you play politic on the GOP side, look what happened to GVP. The GOP
are 10 steps ahead of you (color conservatives).

it's ironic how majority of the conservatives don't do their homework,
too lazy to learn for themselves, they don't read or study the issues
and problem for themselves, instead they let people like rush limbaug,
fox news, and ann coultere manipulate the facts.

this is just a snap shot okay, it would more than this to help
conservatives understand all the lies they have been taught. anyway to
understand why worker form unions one have to study the labor history
in america when in the early 1900s big company like ford, gmc, mining
company, etc. work workers to death (yes death) with little
regulations from the fed. eventually workers formed unions to proctect
themselves that created new labor laws, that also protect non union
workers.. that means you too even if you are not a union, you
benefited from the union's movement for fair labor law like a 40 hours
week and health benefits. Who causes workers to unionize for fair
labor laws? Conservatives and big corporations.

on illegal aliens, conservatives bitch and moan about illegal aliens
coming to the u.s. but few understand why illegal aliens are here. the
reason they leave their family behind to come here is because our
government have taken over their country, install puppet government so
that the big U.s. corporations can take their resources, while
creating wealth to less than 1% of the already wealthiest people in
south america. what do you expect the rest of the poor south americans
to do to survive? they have to leave their family behind and risk
lives to come here to find job so that they can send money back to
their family. The great u.s. wall will not keep illegal aliens away
until the u.s. change it's capitalistic policy toward south america.
And you know what? who's behind the expansion of u.s. capitalistic and
imperialistic policy? Conservatives and big corporations.

Welfare and education. whites are the largest recipients of welfare so
please don't stereotype that people of color are all on welfare.
Education is the key to moving low income family out of poverty
regardless of race. Education is what will develop a strong workforce
that can compete in the global market. while whites are having less
and less children, people of color also need strong education program
to ensure the stability of the country for generation to come. It has
always been classism in america, a poor education system by the
conservative is a tactic to widen the gap between poor and wealthy.
soon there will be no middle class.

So in state like california under the bush year, conservatives give
big tax break to big corporations, illegal war and deregulation on
wall street created the current economic crisis. It;'s call trickle
down economic, give benefits to the wealthy, eventually they will
tickle down to the poor. Well that's not happening, the rich deposit
their money in foreign banks and the u.s. economic sink. BTW if I
recall correctly all the top corporations in silicon valley are
founded by immigrants, LOL...

1. Intel Corp. - Andy Grove (Hungary) 99,900
2. Solectron Corp. - Winston Chen (Taiwan) 53,000
3. Sanmina-SCI Corp. - Jule Sola/Milan Mandaric (Bosnia/Croatia)
48,621
4. Sun Microsystems Inc. - Andreas Bechtolsheim/Vinod Khosla
(Germany/India) 31,000
5. eBay Inc. - Pierre Omidyar (France) 12,600
6. Yahoo Inc. - Jerry Yang (Taiwan) 9,800
7. Life Time Fitness Inc. - Bahram Akradi (Iran) 9,500
8. Tetra Tech Inc. - Henri Hodara (France) 7,200
9. UTStarcom Inc. - Ying Wu (China) 6,300
10. Google Inc. - Sergey Brin (Russia) 5,680

look conservatives has good values and good ideas, but they are just
ideas and they don't work in reality. we can debate you all day, but
if your mind is closed or made up already, then it is pointless and
let's agree to disagree.

again, if you don't know how to play American politic, don't get used
by the conservative. i welcome your counter argument.

So these people named who created companies that employ many people, I
heard that the way it is in France, first hand experience, you can't
open up your own business that easily.

Also, these people mentioned who created companies, did they immigrate
legally? I know there are many good people who deserve to be given a
break but we also, like every other country in the world, have
immigration laws. Maybe these people met the requirements to become a
citizen. I have heard Phillipine people say, "we went through the
immigration process, why should people who don't be allowed the same
status?"

Also, South America, what countries do we control? Not the Socialist
in Venezuela with Chavez and not Bolivia and probably not Argentina
either. The US has always aided all of Latin America, I doubt if we
control Brazil, Chile or other countries down there. This reads like
socialist propoganda.

My Tunisian friend and like Laos, the French use to be in Tunisia and
Northern Africa told me, he can't open up his own garage in France or
at least, it is difficult to do such things. A lot of these people
immigrate legally. That is the key, I wonder if the Bosnian listed
above, immigrated legally, the Chinese person also. This is slanted
information.

Additionally, illegal aliens have been involved in car accidents that
have killed people. And there is probably a lot more along these
lines. This happened here in Minnesota where 3 or 4 school kids was
killed by a car driven by an illegal alien.

Illegal Aliens/Immigrants then is not fair to those who are here
legally and become citizens.

I do believe the US government needs to help the Hmong but not
necessarily others who immigrate here.

Plum,

" Why read the rest of this with this kind of logic?"

Precisely, that's the problem, conservatives are lazy, they don't like
to do their own research, it is easier to let Rush limbaurg, Fox news
and ann Coultere educate them on the issues in the name of
conservative values and ideology. They hook you with religious
christian values and then feed you everything else that is false in
policy.

I don't know how much you know about U.S. foreign policy or global
economic, but I think you are a smart person, it won't take you long
if you really wanted to know the truth about U.S. imperialism. Below
are a few facts for you to research about.

railroad in Panama

LOL - when you learn, you will learn that venezuela, cuba, etc. are
countries that the u.s. can not control through one of the following;
economically, military, and or politically so they are label as the
bad guys. And this doesn't mean these countries are angels, but they
have the right to exist and govern their own people just like us.

It's funny how conservative, if they don't understand something they
call it socialist propaganda. Oh on the subject of the Phillipine, do
you know think the u.s. have control over their government? Before you
answer, do some research, but here is a start.

# 1565 Spain 'colonizes' the Philippines.
# 1580 Spanish military and political control are consolidated in
lowland areas except for Mindanao, the Sulu Archipelago and Palawan.
# 1605 Most Filipinos became Catholics before this date.
# 1762-74 The British occupy Manila. Until this time, the Spanish had
been able to impose relative isolation on the Philippines.
# 1814 Manila is opened to foreign trade.
# 1869 The Suez Canal is opened, making rade between Europe and the
Philippines easier.
# 1872 The Cavite Rebellion. Hoping to quickly put down an organized

# 1897 The Pact of Biak-na-bato temporarily suspends fighting between

of fire, the Spanish are defeated.

Declaration of Independence
December 12: U.S. and Spanish negotiators sign the Treaty of Paris,
officially ending the Spanish-American War and ceding the Philippines
to the U.S. for $20 million.
# 1899 January 23: Aguinaldo and his associates formally proclaim the
establishment of the First Philippine Republic at Malolos.
February 4: Fighting breaks out between U.S. and Filipino forces. The
Philippine-American War took about three and a half years, the overall
conflict nearly 10 years. Estimate of Filipino lives lost range from
400,000 to 600,000, and American lives lost were approximately 10,000.
February 6: U.S. Senate votes to annex the Philippines
March: Protestant missionaries beging arriving on the scene.
# 1901 March 23: General Aguinaldo captured.
Subic Bay designated the principal U.S. Naval Station in the
Philippines. The Sedition Law passed by the Americans imposing the
death penalty or a long prison sentence on anyone advocating
Philippine independence.
The transport ship Thomas sails from San Francisco with 600 American
public school teachers bound for the Philippines.
# 1902 Ft. Stotsenberg, later Clark Air Base, is established as a
cavalry outpost.

the U.S.
# 1947 The Military Bases agreement is signed with the U.S.

vehicle traffic crashes (BAC of .01 or higher)). But it is not okay

foreign governments, especially in south america. LOL.
