Used and Free Capacity of Disk

Hi All,

How to calculate the disk used and free space information using SMI-S .

For HP MSA P2000 i have queried HP_DiskExtent , which has only the following properties regarding storage information.

instance of HP_DiskExtent 

{  

  BlockSize = 512;  

  ConsumableBlocks = 1172123568;  

  NumberOfBlocks = 1172123568;  

};

Thanks for your response.

The formula coverts the blocks to the Megabytes , but how do i fetch the used capacity and free capacity , since HP_DiskExtent has no property related to it.

As my understanding, used or free capacity is unsuited to the single disk. 

In block storage, the below is the capacity metrics:

Raw capacity: capacity of all disks (unformatted)

Available capacity : formatted capacity

Free capacity(redundancy)= raw capacity - available Capacity
