Someone wrote to me today asking why kanji.sljfaq.org didn't recognize a variety of characters:

--------

I am a novice in Chinese and have pretty serious plans to be able to read Chinese literature, websites etc.

Indeed I was glad to find your resource providing a possibility to translate a character by handwriting.

I was, however, disappointed after failures to translate, for example,

 (to be called),

  (particle),

 (what),

even after reading guidance about the writing order. Do I do something wrong or this is a limitation of your service? Please suggest.

----------

Just to remind people, there is another site www.qhanzi.com which does recognize these:

-------

Those are simplified Chinese characters so they don't appear in the
recognized character list of the kanji.sljfaq.org.

Please try the following site:

http://www.qhanzi.com/

It has simplified characters which are not in the Japanese. I was able
to find all the characters as you can see from the screenshots.

--------

I also sent him some screenshots. Apologies for using the ultra-annoying Google Plus system for these but here is a link:

I've added a bit of advertising at the bottom of the kanji.sljfaq.org pages. For whatever reason, qhanzi.com has had almost no users for a long time, even though it's almost equivalent to kanji.sljfaq.org, which has about 10,000 users a day.
