First of all please forgive me if i am using the wrong channel to send this inquiry. This inquiry is related to the encoding range U+0D80..U+0DFF (Sinhala language)

I have become a very heavy user of the encoding making efforts to publish material using this encoding mainly in the educational formatting, and i have observed quiet a bit of design errors, that

- causes incorrect rendering
- incorrect input handling
- prevents the encoding to be used in higher level applications such as NLP and Search Applications

the errors derived from 2 categories

- excessive use of zero-width-joiner (for left and right extension to a symbol)
- mappings of combined letters

the overall ideology that has gone to encoding has gone beyond a primitive character/symbol representation to some what dictating language use. the original committee who had submitted the current encoding is no longer in can be reached, can you please provide guidance on how to proceed on a matter like this? is it as simple as making a proposal pointing out the short-comings with examples / illustrations etc? Is there any governing body with in the country that need be part of the proposal process?

එවගේම අද දින මම මෘදුකාංගයක් වැඩ කරන ගමන් තවත් දැකපු උදාහරනයක ගත්ත පින්තුර සහ යුනිකෙත පෞද්ගලික කොට්ඨාශයට සංකේතය එකතු කොට ගැටලුව විසදාගත් අයුරු රූප රාමු සමග. මේ උදාහරනය "ා ෙ" අක්ෂර වලට zwj අවශ්‍ය නොවනබව හොදින් පෙන්වා දෙන සාදකයක්. තවද මෙවලමක ගැටලු දැකිය හැක්කේ මෙවලම සෑම අතකින්ම භාවිතා කොට පමණි. මේ ගැටළු ඔබ කිසි කෙනෙක් නොදැක ඇත්නම් බොහොදුරට ඔබතුමන්ලාගේ  භාවිතය මයික්රෝසොෆ්ට් වින්ඩෝස් සහ අනතර්ජාල ගවේශණය භාවිතා කරනා මෘදුකාංග වලට පමණක් සීමා වී ඇතැයී සිතමි.



මෙම පින්තුර වලින් පෙන්නුම් කරන්නේ ඇන්ඩ්‍රොයිඩ් මෘදුකාංගයක් නිපදවීමේදි ටෙක්ස්ට් විව් අංගයක ස්පැන්නබල් ඉස්ට්‍රින්ග් එකක් මගින් වචනයක අකුරු කිහිපයක යටි ඉරක් ගැසුවිට ා අක්ෂරය අනිත් අක්ෂර සමග ඇති සම්බන්ධය නැතිවි යන ආකාරයයි. එයට හේතුව සම්මතයට අනුව නිර්මානය කොට ඇති ඇන්ඩ්‍රාෙයිඩ් මෙවලමේ අක්ෂර දර්ශණය ක්‍රමවේදය දකුණු පසින් එම වචනය යාබද විය යුතු අක්ෂරයට අක්ෂර කාණ්ඩයේ නියමාවලිය අනුව zwj පැමිනි පසු එහා අතැ සම්බන්ධය නැතුව යාමයි.

කෙසේ උවද මම මගේ ගැටළුව විසදා ගත්තේමි. මන්ද මාගේ ඇන්ඩ්‍රොයිඩ් වැඩසටහන සමන අකුරු ගොනවුද අමුනා ඇති නිසා, නමුත් මෙම ගැටළුව විසදීම සිංහල භාෂාව තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ තවත් පියනරකට ගෙනයාමට අත්‍යාවශය වේ.
