Free IdP to use to test

What is the normal procedure used to test setting up a Service Provider using simpleSAMLphp? Are there free IdP's that can be used to test the application? I'm very much new to this subject, so any help is greatly appreciated.

You can try http://www.testshib.org/
The instructions are geared towards Shibboletth, but you can use it with SSP.

IDP of your own, sooner or later, for testing and debugging purposes
(e.g. sending or not sending specific attributes or values).
Or you could activate IDP functionality in your SimpleSAMLphp instance
(used for the SP), though depending on how you do IDP discovery that
may have side effects. (You wouln't want that IDP shown in IDP
discovery interfaces, for example)
Or simulating sessions (and/or attributes) in your application's test
environment.
