A visual guide for the upcoming version 4 of SilverStripe

As we are currently working on updating the Files area of the CMS I have been working on some of the design patterns slightly ahead of development. Where it makes sense I have tried to document these changes so that the community can share their thoughts on its direction, and hopefully get excited about some of the changes.

In this guide I have started to include other CMS elements outside of the Files area which I think will be worthy of updating as well.
Highlights include:

• the colour scheme—we would like to make the backgrounds lighter which will help increase the overall contrast
• the main sidebar menu has been simplified with a colour change to fit in more with brand colours
  
• completely new files area (lot of inspiration taken from unclecheese's KickAssets module) but remodelled to fit with the CMS
• new has_one uploadfield pattern, reusing the files area to minimise build time
• a new search layout and interaction
• guiding UX principles
  
• main actions button styling updates
• much more to come...
  

This guide is work in progress, so expect things to change as we continue development. We are only working on the Files area at the moment so a lot of these concepts wont happen for a while, and they might need backing from the community first. I hope that this guide could also be used to aid some of the submissions on the UI, and be available for contribution from others as well.
