Australian startups listing early?

[ meta-point: it's very quiet in here, especially outside the category of 'wantrepreneur' discussions... arguably the public discussion of Australian startups has moved to Twitter? ]

What do people think of the idea of relatively early stage startups listing on the ASX - or elsewhere? I've seen a couple examples of Aussie startups (feel free to post your own) listing at what appears to be a pretty early stage. TinyBeans and GetSwift are the examples I'm thinking of. Not a knock on these companies, just curious about the general principle of listing when annual revenue is still in six-figures...

Any examples of this going well or badly so far, or is it too soon to say?

I don't have much to comment on the topic. To your meta point though - I think much of the discussion has moved to Sydney Startups Facebook group (and twitter, medium, etc)

From talking to a friend who did it, the advice was that it was a bad idea and he wouldn't recommend it. His comment is that is a great way for finance folks to make fees and for spivs to make a capital gain by appealing to the gambling nature of Aussie marks/clients. There could well be some success stories and this was just one person's opinion - albeit one not speculating from the cheap seats but in the arena and with the scars to prove it :-)
