Hello,
I wanted to weigh in because we just started using TutorTrac so track SI attendance and produce the end-of-semester reports needed. We have used TutorTrac at our institution for tracking tutoring appointments for the past 5 years. I am also an office of 1 (with a graduate assistant who helps me 10 hour/week)! Though I haven't heard of 1 system that perfectly addresses everyone's needs, I've been satisfied with how TutorTrac has helped streamline some of the processes we used to do by hand/Excel spreadsheet.

There was a time not so long ago (maybe two years) when the security people with our IT division would not allow use of this platform on campus due to security liabilities. That said, I'm not an IT guy; you may want to have someone who is check it out first.

We allow the SI leaders to decide how much they wish to share with their students using their Canvas. Some leaders make their worksheets so that they aren't helpful without going to the sessions and others choose to not post at all and print the worksheets for the students. We also encourage out leaders to have an attendance requirement for test review material which ensures that students attend and keeps their test reviews from being overcrowded with students. All of this is up to the SIL though so that they can decide what works best for their students and the course they are working with. As for the attendance program it is accessible through a link that we have on our SI resources page for all of the leaders. They can access it from their own computer or the computer in their classroom. I hope this answers your questions!

I never thought about each leader having their own Canvas page. I may consider stealing that from you! A few questions:
* If the entire class is added to the Canvas, what is your policy on sharing materials with students who do not attend SI sessions?
* You mentioned that IT created a sign-in program for you. Do your sessions take place in a designated location where there is a kiosk for this sign-in? Our sessions are spread around campus in different classrooms (space shortage), so is your sign-in method accessible if leaders brought a laptop to their session or used the classroom computer?

At Baylor we have the students who attend SI sign in using a program that the IT department developed for us. The SIL selects their name and types in what session they are having and then the students type in their ID numbers. We then get a list sent to us that has all of the data in it that we can then analyze and send out to whoever needs it. The SILs also each have their own Canvas page where they can upload worksheets, post their schedule, and communicate with the students who are signed up for the course. We receive a list of who is enrolled in the courses that have SIs at the beginning of the semester and again after add/drop that the SILs can copy into their Canvas in order to add the students.

I am looking for recommendations of products to help us keep track and produce reports of attendance to SI sessions and other events. My office is a 1-person operation, so I'd love something that simple to set up and to keep up, and that allows for production of good reports related to usage, trends over time, etc.
Our University's tutoring center uses Accudemia, so that is one product I need to consider. Any feedback about Accudemia and how it might compare to other products will be appreciated.

I wanted to weigh in because we just started using TutorTrac so track SI attendance and produce the end-of-semester reports needed. We have used TutorTrac at our institution for tracking tutoring appointments for the past 5 years. I am also an office of 1 (with a graduate assistant who helps me 10 hour/week)! Though I haven't heard of 1 system that perfectly addresses everyone's needs, I've been satisfied with how TutorTrac has helped streamline some of the processes we used to do by hand/Excel spreadsheet.

We allow the SI leaders to decide how much they wish to share with their students using their Canvas. Some leaders make their worksheets so that they aren't helpful without going to the sessions and others choose to not post at all and print the worksheets for the students. We also encourage out leaders to have an attendance requirement for test review material which ensures that students attend and keeps their test reviews from being overcrowded with students. All of this is up to the SIL though so that they can decide what works best for their students and the course they are working with. As for the attendance program it is accessible through a link that we have on our SI resources page for all of the leaders. They can access it from their own computer or the computer in their classroom. I hope this answers your questions!

* If the entire class is added to the Canvas, what is your policy on sharing materials with students who do not attend SI sessions?
* You mentioned that IT created a sign-in program for you. Do your sessions take place in a designated location where there is a kiosk for this sign-in? Our sessions are spread around campus in different classrooms (space shortage), so is your sign-in method accessible if leaders brought a laptop to their session or used the classroom computer?

At Baylor we have the students who attend SI sign in using a program that the IT department developed for us. The SIL selects their name and types in what session they are having and then the students type in their ID numbers. We then get a list sent to us that has all of the data in it that we can then analyze and send out to whoever needs it. We receive a list of who is enrolled in the courses that have SIs at the beginning of the semester and again after add/drop that the SILs can copy into their Canvas in order to add the students.

Hi, colleagues.
I am looking for recommendations of products to help us keep track and produce reports of attendance to SI sessions and other events. My office is a 1-person operation, so I'd love something that simple to set up and to keep up, and that allows for production of good reports related to usage, trends over time, etc.
Our University's tutoring center uses Accudemia, so that is one product I need to consider. Any feedback about Accudemia and how it might compare to other products will be appreciated.

Tracking attendance & facilitating QAs peer-to-peer support between students and SI leaders these are the kind of problems I’m solving by working on a flexible forms infrastructure. It all allows SILs to create private spaces (buckets) for their students and just about any type of tracking you can do with a webform is doable. I experienced & understand this problem first hand as a student, leader, and coordinator for many years. Canvas & Blackboard can be frustrating to work with as they are inflexible and frankly not very user friendly.
