Hi,

I am fairly new to Shiny-server. I have been able to host my apps on the open source version of shiny-server (installed on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) and it was working perfectly fine. I wanted to upgrade the server and deployed the commercial build (trial) by following the instructions from this page - https://support.rstudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/216080017-Upgrading-Shiny-Server
install command was - sudo gdebi shiny-server-commercial-1.4.7.736-amd64.deb

After the installation, when i try to open the app through the link http://<my-ip>:3838/<app-name>  I get the following error

An error has occurred

The application failed to start.

EACCES, open '/var/log/shiny-server/<app-name>-shiny-20161017-123433-60651.log'

However, the log files are not created there. The last log file available in that location is when i was running the open-source versions.

When i try to open the home page with http://<my-ip>:3838/ the index.html page is loading, however the sample apps on the page are not displayed.
I have tried retaining my old config file from the open source version and also tried using the default config file available from /opt/shiny-server/config.

Any help to trouble shoot this would be much appreciated. I can provide more details if required.

thanks,
Alwar.
