Existing Alternative to callModule or expected CRAN update

Hello, Shiny maintainers,

There's recently been a new feature called callModule. Is there some sort of CRAN update timeline that is followed so I can know when I start using this feature without worry of code breaking on other machines? If not, is there an existing alternative?
