Hosting shiny apps internally

Thought I'd make a proper post about this here rather than stackoverflow.

Let's say I want to design shiny apps that can be hosted privately on the company intranet. It's pretty clear to do this I'd need a dedicated server.

Can the open source edition host as many different apps as you like and allow multiple connections per app?

It should. I've got many apps running on an internal setup. No issues so far.
