Installing on openSUSE 12.1

It was a tad tricky installing shelr on openSUSE, but I did eventually get it up and running. Hope this helps others to get this awesome tool installed on their systems.

There are some key dependencies that must be installed in addition to ruby and rubygems.

You must also have installed, or install gcc, gcc-c++, and make in addition to ruby and rubygems

so from a terminal
sudo zypper in gcc gcc-c++ make ruby rubygems

then you can install using gem

gem install shelr

then finally, you have to switch the backend to use script

shelr backend script

then you should be off and recording your shell sessions in openSUSE!
