Passing messages through a ShareJS document

Hi all,

I have a need for sending messages from one client to all other clients with a given ShareJS document open.

I'm thinking being able to do something like doc.signal({message: "Hello, world!"}), and then being able to listen for signals on the document on the client side as well.

Is this something that would make sense to have in ShareJS, and something others could see a benefit from?

If you are using ShareJs 0.6.x, there is a function called "shout" where you can broadcast a message to everyone connected to the same document.

Are there any plans for this feature to be part of 0.7?
