Hey all,

I've so far been hosting Shareabouts just on a free Heroku account, but it runs mighty slowly on there, so I'm considering upgrading. I'm also considering moving over to dotCloud, since it seems possibly cheaper, at least on a relatively small-scale project. Just so I can get an idea of cost, though, I'm wondering what people's experiences are like with running Shareabouts on dotCloud. I realize that this probably depends on many factors, but how much RAM should I expect to need to need to buy from dotCloud in order to have a basic Shareabouts instance running quickly and smoothly?

Thanks much!
Linn

Hi Linn,

Something like 256M for a server running Shareabouts should be more than enough. However, I'm hesitant to think that memory beyond what a Heroku dyno provides would fix slowness issues. Would you be willing to share the URL for this instance? You can reply to me off-list if you like. I'm curious to see what kind of slowness you're experiencing and whether we can find anything that can be changed to improve it.
