Who else is doing it? ( https://www.grizz.org/century/home/ )

I signed up for the short (80-mile) mixed terrain route. Haven't figured out how I'll get there yet, will gladly carpool. The website insists bart is not really possible without skipping the first 20mi of the ride.

I’m registered for 109 mi, but my kids schedule has totally exploded this weekend, so I need to take a pass so I can help shuttle them around.

My reg is up for grabs in case someone wants it — ping me offline.

I signed up for the short mixed as well. I was going to start at Tilden, but I guess the first 20mi contains one of the dirt sections.

I'm amused at the contrast between the description for this ride and the spring classic :)

I'm signed up for the regular century; I was just looking and it seems BART arrives pretty late there, so I'll probably end up driving. I could carry a couple more bikes in my car.

I'd be interested in one of those spots.

I'm signed up for the regular century, but haven't been on the bike much this year. So slow going.

+1 for the full road course.

I will most likely be driving but have some non SF2G friends to coordinate with so not sure if I have an extra seat or not. If I do I will post here later in the week! Looking forward to the ride. I'll most likely be rocking the black sf2g kit on black felt bike so please say hi.

Signed up for the 110, planning for a super early start so will look out for a potential sf2g gathering at the finish line.

FYI — my registration has been claimed.

The first BART arrives in Downtown Berkeley at 8:43 and it would take most of you guys 20-30 min to ride to Island (the car-free start).  Check in runs until 10 a.m., so it's doable if you're doing the paved route and you'll likely be passing plenty of people all day.  The nice thing is that you could just finish at Rockridge or Berkeley and avoid having to go all the way to Moraga and slogging back to SF from there.

I'm planning to do either the 102 or the 110 and obviously riding from home to start at Island around 8 or 8:30.  I would rather be on the early side, but not so early that no other riders are out on the course yet.

Anyone know if the rest stops are decent and whether I need to bring much (any?) bars or snacks?

Justin, I have not done it, but I have heard that the food is one of the highlights of GPC with lots of homemade banana bread and stuff like that.  THey also seem super organized... they have patched a lot of potholes on the standard east bay routes int he last cpl of wks and have spray painted to call out others and they seem to do this every year.

Unless it's been changed...

One thing about this century was that there were two loops, and the lunch stop is at the start, then you head back out and tackle all the stuff south - Redwood, Pinehurst, etc... and the lunch is very good and you can overeat... :)

When I did it, we started at Rockridge, went up Tunnel and rode to Wildcat where they had a car free start that year. By the time we hit Moraga, we were blown as we had done Wine Country the day before. So we just pigged out on the food, rode to Lafayette, and took BART home.

Have fun on McEwen.....

Here’s mine from 2013:

I assume the route is mostly the same this year.

I really enjoyed riding up past Pinole, Hercules, and through Crockett.  It was fascinating riding by the petroleum facilities, actually.

McEwen was definitely tough .. but the scenery back there is pretty fantastic, and it’s pretty short.  It took me about 7.5 minutes to climb it.

I am doing the regular century.
My preferred strategy is to find a place to crash nearby and just ride to the start, otherwise drive up early from the city.
Ping me offline if you are still looking for a ride.
