Big green sign, 2x280, hoping to hit 16mph avg and be at work shortly before 9:30

No +1s and I might roll earlier.

+1 from alemany and lyell (is that the way you're going?).  I don't know if I will be able to keep up but I don't mind getting dropped (since I'd rather get dropped than to not try the ride!)

Yes, I'll go through alemany / lyell. Dropping is unlikely unless faster people than me show up (I prefer to ride steady without stopping keeping the group together on all but the longer climbs).

Sandbagging (usually in this list at least) means saying "I'm slow" and being anything but.

I'm doing my first SF2G ride tomorrow morning! Not sure about all this lingo (RRR, 2x280, Skyline, etc).

I'm meeting 2 colleagues at 24th & Valencia @ 6:30am

Does anyone have any last words of wisdom?

Wish me luck!

-1 tweaked my neck sitting at my desk (yeah, you read that right) and it's gotten progressively worse. Probably shouldn't risk a ride.

+ it was good trying to ride with you guys. After flatting at the big green sign and again at Sharp Park,  and not being able to get a solid patch on a repair, I threw in the towel.

I was maybe 3-4 minutes late to JD/S and was all juiced up to catch you guys,  passed someone in an SF2G jersey fixing a flat just at the start of the climb, 2 others, then they all got to repass me at the green sign.

Bleh, kept up on Polhemus just to fall over on the re-mount, realize my seat had gone sideways, and have to stop at the overpass and get out the allen keys to fix it... what a dumb way to get dropped!  Thanks to Elizeu for helping (and Samuel for helping earlier on when my chain popped off..)  Still had tons of fun, thanks everyone!!

Owen, later reply, FWIW

RRR -- Ritual Roasters Roll out (in general the acronyms refer to the meeting point)
2x280 -- this is a variation on the Skyline route.
Skyline -- you guessed right is a route that goes along Skyline Blvd (mostly with variations).
S2.5 -- Style 2.5 (indicates the expectation on how fast the ride will be)

You can get an idea about all of this and other bits here -- http://sf2g.com/terms.html

Hope you had fun out there,
Elizeu

Hi John, I think it was me who you saw fixing a flat on a SF2G jersey. Unfortunately, I had no spares left when we met the second time (I was carrying only one).

That was my first flat anyway - I had a solid spare. I found the glass piece and my second flat was definitely in another spot.
