In fairness:

Janet Lafleur ‏@ladyfleur  May 4
@Caltrain_News Will they not include a 3rd bike car because they're still modifying the "new" cars?

Caltrain ‏@Caltrain_News  May 4
@ladyfleur Yes. The process for bikifying the cars has begun, not timeline yet.

They've said from the beginning that the 3rd car would not initially be a bike car but that they would be converting them over the next few months or whatever.

Six Car Trains

Beginning Monday, May 11, Caltrain will put into service four 6-car Bombardier sets. This will alleviate some of the overcrowding our customers have been experiencing.  The 6-car sets will be equipped with two bike cars.

Sunnyvale Station: Only the northern pedestrian crossing is available while the train is in the station. The south pedestrian crossings will be blocked by the train. Please only cross when it’s safe to do so.

Santa Clara Station: Customers sitting in the car next to the locomotive will need to make their way to the second car to disembark at Santa Clara due to a platform obstruction.

The 6-car sets will be on the following trains:
