Did anyone see Last Week Tonight's bit on "infrastructure" -- one of
the "fix potholes" examples was a bicyclist who died descending
Grizzly Peak Blvd.

What was stated was a pothole caused him to be in front of a car while
he was descending.

I still plummet ralston whenever I'm too fried to do anything better
But of all the risks -and there are many - this is one I didn't consider (well, I'm not clear on what happened)

Isn’t the pavement fairly new? He must have hit a piece of debris that caused him to go down.

Damn, that sucks. He could have been trying to avoid a car that pulled out or was trying to merge into him. There are a couple of really sketchy merges where cars pass terrifyingly close at high speeds. There are also quite a few spots where cars are pulling in and out of gas stations, shops, etc. and if somebody pulls in front of you, you're kinda screwed. They might not even have seen him.

I really never liked descending Ralston, it always felt dangerous to me and I avoided it unless I was late for a meeting or something...

My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Be careful out there guys!
