Like the regular HMB but stay on the coast a little longer and climb Stage Rd, 84 and West Alpine. Descend Pagemill direct into Los Altos.
This probably adds about 6 miles and 20 minutes on to a regular HMB/Tunitas/Portola Valley route, not that much in the grand scheme of things:

Correction, if we go up 84 we only go on stage rd for a tiny descent. I propose we follow that strava route.

Yes, I’m not suggesting that we go through pescadero - that would add an extra hill and quite a bit more distance.

Actually on the spur of the moment we decided to do exactly that - extra hill and miles, but bonus coffee shop stop in pescadero. Lovely ride but possibly stretching the definition of a commute.
If we’d just headed up 84 as planned I think it would have worked out very similar to a regular hmb.
